Anniversary Posters For Kids To Make

Create anniversary posters to decorate for a celebration.

Anniversaries can include personal celebrations such as a wedding anniversary, a group anniversary including school and church anniversaries or the anniversary of a town or city. Kids enjoy creating crafts and can produce anniversary posters for a celebration. Does this Spark an idea?

Personal Celebration Posters

Personal anniversary posters include wedding anniversaries and anniversaries of other significant events, such as an adoption. Have kids make a special poster to help a loved one celebrate a wedding anniversary. The poster can serve as a party decoration for an anniversary celebration. For instance, use the poster to celebrate a golden anniversary for grandparents. Write a large "50" in the center of a poster board and allow children to add glue and gold sparkle. Find photos of the anniversary couple and reproduce them at a copy center. Let children make a photo collage of photos of the couple over the duration of their marriage. Frame the poster in a poster frame and cover the frame with gold sparkle.

Or, celebrate an adoption anniversary of a sibling with a poster. Have a photo of the adopted child enlarged to poster size. Cut a mat for around the photo and have kids and other loved ones write messages to the child on the mat and then frame and hang it at the celebration.

Schools and Organizations Anniversary Posters

Schools, churches and other organizations often celebrate significant anniversaries with parties and events that require posters and decorations. For a school celebration, have each class create a poster to decorate at a school celebration event. One example of a school anniversary poster is to draw an old-fashioned school house at the center of the poster and add drawn pictures of students running around outside. Take photos of the students and cut out their faces and add them to the drawn figures so the students on the poster have photo faces and hand-drawn bodies.

Regional Anniversary Posters

Have a contest for children to create an official anniversary poster for a town, region or state. Invite children within the area to create a logo and poster for an anniversary celebration. Have local business people, artists and government representatives choose the winning entry. Reproduce the winning poster for promotional purposes and hang the remaining entries at an art exhibit at the anniversary event. Some event directors may want to have a professional artist create a logo and poster for an anniversary event. Make a poster-sized coloring page based on the professional design and distribute the posters to children so they can color a poster and hang it in their own homes.

Other Anniversary Posters

Use craft items to create a 3D poster. Add fabric scraps and fun fur to posters to add texture to people's clothing and to add fur to animals. Other types of craft items that can be used on posters are google eyes, scrapbook materials and magazine picture collages. Have children use fabric scraps to create a poster advertising a coat drive to celebrate a nonprofit organization's anniversary. Use Styrofoam balls to create a 3-D sphere. For instance, if a community is celebrating an anniversary with a golf tournament, consider using a Styrofoam ball that has been split in half on a poster board. Cut the ball in half and paint it to resemble a golf ball before attaching it to a poster.
