Many homeless shelters offer emergency services, and temporary and long-term aid for those who are in need.
Open Door Community
The Open Door Community is located in Atlanta. The mission of the Open Door Community to abolish sexism, heterosexism, racism and the death penalty through loving relationships with the homeless and those in prison. The Open Door Community serves breakfasts and soup-kitchen lunches, provides a free medical clinic, showers and a change of clothes and monthly trips for families to visit loved ones at Hardwick Prison in central Georgia.

Augusta Street Ministries
The Augusta Street Ministries is located in Augusta. The goal of the Augusta Street Ministries is to aid the homeless, whenever possible. Each person receives a sack lunch, including a sandwich, fruit drink, sweet roll, chips and a Christian tract. In addition to sack lunches, the Augusta Street Ministries also distributes personal hygiene kits, including a bar of soap, disposable razor, bandages, deodorant, toothbrush and toothpaste, clothes, blankets and toys.

Elizabeth Inn Emergency Night Shelter
Managed by MUST Ministries, the Elizabeth Inn Emergency Night Shelter is located in Marietta. It houses homeless women, men and children 365 days a year. The Loaves and Fishes Community Kitchen and Dining Hall is located inside the shelter. The dining hall provides breakfast and dinner on the weekdays and all meals on the weekends. MUST Ministries offers programs to assist guests with clothing, employment and educational opportunities as well as a free health clinic.

The Good Neighbor Homeless Shelter, located in Cartersville, offers a home-like setting to men, women and families in need. The shelter staff assists guests in setting and prioritizing goals to return to independent living. The Good Neighbor Homeless Shelter helps families in obtaining employment, save money and locate affordable housing. The shelter provides all care and costs during the duration of each guest's stay.
