Grants In North Carolina

North Carolina offers grants to improve the quality of life for residents.

North Carolina, also known as the Tar Heel State, is a southern state located along the Atlantic Seaboard. The state is divided into three distinct regions, including the Coastal Plain, the Piedmont and the Mountains. The historic state offers cultural and educational opportunities for its residents. To enhance the quality of life for residents, North Carolina provides numerous grant opportunities.

Art Grants

The Arts Council of North Carolina offers several grants for arts programming that benefits the residents of the state. To be eligible for grants, an organization must be a non-profit agency and have produced quality art programs for at least two years in a row.

The Artist Fellowship provides $10,000 to sponsor the creative advancement of state artists, including writers, composers, playwrights and screenwriters. The grant allows the artist to pursue projects to enhance his creativity and to purchase needed supplies and equipment.

The Regional Artist Project Grant offers different areas of the state to award grants to artists. Grants allow financial assistance with equipment, professional development, travel expenses and promotional materials. Awards vary from area to area, and they generally range from $300 to $7,500, according to the North Carolina Arts Council Website.
