Vietnam Adoption Agencies

Vietnam Adoption Agencies

Vietnam adoption agencies work with prospective parents from around the world to find quality homes for orphaned children. A "memorandum of understanding" agreement must exist between the Vietnamese government and the adoptive parents' country of origin. Such an agreement between Vietnam and the United States has existed but it has been rescinded several times since 1998. Vietnamese officials did not renew the "MOU" agreement in September of 2008. As of September 2009, adoptions remained closed.

Children's Hope Agency

The Children's Hope Adoption agency is a nonprofit agency operating in Vietnam. A bilingual staff works with prospective parents to complete necessary paperwork and find a child in need of a home. This agency provides humanitarian aid in addition to uniting orphaned children with new families. Adoptive parents receive a photo, medical history and profile of a child before traveling to Vietnam to visit the adoption agency.

New Beginnings

New Beginnings Family and Children's Services Inc. helps prospective U.S. adoptive parents with international adoptions. Trained staff work with governmental agencies that are involved in approving and processing adoptions to allow children to be placed with parents in the United States. The company began finding homes for orphaned children in 1985. According to information available from the company's website, negotiations between the United States and Vietnamese government pertaining to a new "MOU" agreement show promise. Once a new agreement is in place, agency staff will once again work with the Vinh Phuc Social Care Center to place Vietnamese orphans in U.S. homes.

Adoptions from the Heart

Adoptions from the Heart programs assist prospective parents with the home study and evaluation process, as well as providing post-adoption services. Through humanitarian efforts, this agency has aided in the refurbishment of two Vietnamese orphanages. Once a new "MOU" agreement is in place, the Adoptions from the Heart company will again work to place orphans from the Tam Binh and Go Vap orphanages in new homes.

Faith International

The Faith International Adoption Agency provides services and aid to eight Vietnamese orphanages. The program director routinely makes twice-annual visits to the orphanages to assist with child placement and to offer supplies. Agency staffers have provided additional medical supplies, educational items and food to Vietnamese orphanages during the closed adoption period. Processing of adoption requests will continue once a new agreement is reached.

Adoptions Together

Adoptions Together offers pre-adoption training, support, as well as culture camps for children. This company offers aid to three Vietnamese adoption centers, and provides both pre- and post-adoption counseling for parents. Adoptions Together has served the needs of orphaned Vietnamese children and U.S. families since 1990. Once adoption services resume, this agency will once again begin placing children from Hoa Binh and the Thanh Hoa orphanages in new homes.
